ABOUT Personal Comfort Bed
Personal Comfort Beds is a U.S.-based manufacturer of adjustable firmness smart beds, operated by American National Manufacturing (ANM). Founded in the 1970s by Craig Miller Sr., the company originally specialized in waterbeds and later pioneered the development of adjustable air-supported mattresses.
In the late 1980s, the company introduced its first adjustable firmness bed. At that time, a numbered dial indicator was attached to an air control unit that would actively maintain a set pressure in the air chamber and was marketed under the idea of “Intelligent Air Technology.” Under the leadership of Craig Miller Jr., the company expanded its expertise into the medical market in the 1990s, focusing on pressure relief mattresses for therapeutic use, and continued developing consumer products around one key idea:

In 2007, ANM made an acquisition that propelled the company away from pure-play manufacturing to developing and marketing in-house brands focused on the core competency of designing for adjustability and flexibility.
ANM launched the Personal Comfort brand in 2012 with the goal to Build a Better Smart Bed at a Better Price. Today, the business is still family-operated by Craig Miller Jr. and his two sons, with Scott Stenzel as co-founder of the Personal Comfort brand.
Personal Comfort exclusively offers adjustable firmness smart beds that allow each sleeper to control the firmness of their side of the mattress. These beds feature modular construction, Bluetooth-enabled air control systems, and high-quality CertiPur-US® certified foams, offering 45 pressure settings per side for individualized comfort. The company provides an industry-leading 25-year limited warranty, with up to five years of full coverage.
