Spindle products include a customizable, organic All-Latex Dunlop mattress made from Oeko-Tex and GOLS-certified latex sourced from Sri Lanka, They also provide a hybrid organic-latex mattress for added versatility which is ideal for those who prefer a more traditional feel.
The founder and former owner of Spindle, Neal Van Patten, hails from a family with deep roots in the mattress manufacturing industry. With extensive expertise in latex and mattresses, he established Spindle Mattress to deliver high-quality products. Although the company has recently changed hands, the mattresses continue to offer exceptional quality and value. The new, dynamic team at Spindle is highly responsive and committed to upholding the core values that Neal established.
The transition to new ownership was completed in late 2022 and throughout 2023, with Neal overseeing the process to ensure that production, quality, warranties, and policies remained consistent. Spindle mattresses are now produced in Chicago, IL, upholding the same high standards as before. We’ve been impressed by the smoothness of this transition and the continued excellence of their products.
Their mattresses have 3 layers of organic latex with an organic wool quilted zip cover which allows for before and after purchase comfort adjustability. Those who need any mattress fine-tuning can replace any layer within the system. Post #6 here and this thread has more comments and feedback about them.
Note: Before 2021 Spindle mattresses used 100% natural continuous pour Dunlop premium latex from Mountaintop Foam.
